Located on the western coast of Nusa Lembongan Island, Jungutbatu is 1 of the 2 villages on the island where most boats from Bali drop their passengers off. Many tourists like to stay in this village because they don’t need to go too deep into the island. Surely there are some beach resorts in Jungutbatu, but if you want to stay in an affordable, yet decent, hotel with lush greeneries and fabulous decor, choose Tigerlillys Hotel. This hotel is a few hundred meters from Jungutbatu Beach, and although the sea can’t be seen from here, you will love everything about this hotel!

Small but nicely laid out boutique hotel

It’s a small boutique hotel with clusters of different tropical plants, a swimming pool, and a restaurant concentrated within the small area. It’s nice to sit and relax in 1 of the 6 loungers there. However, since this is a hotel in a tropical area with lush vegetation, to avoid a mosquito bite, I would recommend that you buy mosquito repellent to be applied on your bare skin.

Stay in a lovely hut

Interestingly, you will live inside a traditional thatched wooden hut called ‘lumbung’. Most of the huts have 2 bedrooms, one is in the upstairs and the other one is down below. If you book a double room, which costs 850,000 IDR (63 USD), you will get either of them, but I would suggest that you choose the downstairs room as it has a veranda. If you travel with more people, book a suite for 1,100,000 IDR (81.6 USD) as you will get a 2-storey hut with more amenities like TV, a DVD player (with collections of movies), a mini bar, and a coffee maker. All rooms are facilitated with hot water and free speedy Wi-Fi, but I love their open bathroom, where at night you can take a shower while being accompanied by the stars in the sky! Since this spot is in a tropical place with a lush garden, mosquitoes are inevitably a part of the hotel. However, you don’t have to worry as every bed, covered with soft linen, is equipped with a mosquito net to prevent mosquitoes from bugging you during your sleep. Rooms are very clean and quiet, so getting a good night’s sleep shouldn’t be a problem.

Restaurant with delish foods and beverages

There is no breakfast buffet at Tigerlillys restaurant, but there are some free breakfast menus for the hotel guests. They provide delish and healthy Asian and Western foods, including their exceptionally tasty ‘acai bowl’ (a kind of thick smoothie with oatmeal and fruits on top) and chewy and cheesy pizza. They have many kinds of beverages, such as juices, smoothies, and yogurt, and among them is a watermelon martini and ‘coco loco smoothie’ (with banana, coconut, and pineapple). After trying your very first watermelon martini you will most likely to want to have a second one. While you are here, you will notice there is a swing at the restaurant where it’s nice to sit and swing while waiting for your meal!

Helping you plan your itinerary

If you are a first timer to the island, coming to this hotel can’t be more right for you. Upon your arrival, you will get a welcome drink and be met by a staff member who will give you the island’s map, and explain things to explore in the island. He can help you rent a scooter (the scooter will be delivered to the hotel), and help you organize the trip by providing a guide. If you have to leave early for the day’s activity, rest assured, because the hotel management will be happy to pack some food to be eaten on the way.

Limited occupancy

This is one of the most popular hotels on the island, with a very limited number of rooms (8 rooms). If you plan to stay here during the weekend or high seasons like Christmas, my advice is to book at least 2 weeks prior to your arrival. So what are you waiting for? Book now to avoid disappointment!
