2. Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church

Established October 13, 1955 by Reverend Francis P. McLoone, this beautiful structure performs many sacraments including baptisms, weddings, reconciliation and confirmation. This historical church is also open to the public, so it would be a great choice for Sunday morning worship if you’re away from you own church. The friendly fellowship will greet you with open arms. 3. Smokin’ Al’s BBQ Joint

Al of Smokin’ Al’s BBQ Joint spent years traveling all of America, learning how different parts of the country make their BBQ. 4. Massapequa Preserve
This beautiful stretch of nature will make you forget that you’re on Long Island. If you’re looking for a quiet place to forget your troubles or get away from the hustle and bustle of the city then take a walk on one of Massapequa Preserve’s trails. The green belt trail will take you through the trees, where you can see wildlife, watch birds, get some fresh air and get exercise all at the same time. There is also a paved path that runs alongside a stream and two lakes that you can share with other bicyclists, rollerbladers and joggers. This path, if traveled the entire way, will take you all the way from the Long Island Express Way down to Cedar Beach and to the ocean. It doesn’t matter if you’re a professional biker or runner, or if you’re just looking for a leisurely stroll, this place is going to have everything you’re looking for.
