The Costa Tropical, or the Tropical Coast in English, lies on the Mediterranean coastline of Granada province in Andalucia, Spain. It is occasionally called the Costa de Granada and it is known for its glorious sandy beaches, dotted with small resort towns. Almuñécar and Motril are two major towns along the coastline. Activities along the Costa Tropical include the normal beach activities and all water sports. However there are many Roman ruins to visit, including bridges and buildings.
Other historic sights include the nearby Nerja Caves, where prehistoric cave paintings can be seen. Also of interest is the Museo Arqueológico Cueva de Siete Palacios (Cave Museum of Seven Palaces) in Almuñécar, which is a series of vaults containing many interesting exhibits, including Egyptian glass that dates back to Pharaoh Apophis.
