Crillon-le-Brave is a small village named after one of Henri IV’s bravest and most heroic generals. His name was Louis des Balbes de Berton de Crillon and he played a huge role during the French Wars of Religion in the late 16th century. As a result, you can see the remnants of the past here, with houses and a church dating all the way back to the 16th century. You will also see several bars, stores, and cafés, together with a school, making up the scene of idyllic village life. A lovely place to visit, the village has preserved its 16th-century fortifications. Once you enter the fortifications, you’ll see the statue of the general, and you can walk along cobbled streets and stairways to admire its old Provencal buildings. You can find the castle situated below the village. The town of Crillon-le-Brave consists mainly of vineyards. Before or after climbing Mont Ventoux or visiting the neighbouring villages, you should stop by one of the wine estates to sample the red, white, or rosé wines. You’ll love your stay in this studio for two, built in the agricultural lot right next to the owner’s own home. There is a large garden for you to bask in, and within the house, there is TV, washer, Wi-Fi, and heating. This studio is in the small village of Saint Pierre de Vassols, and there are many cycling and hiking tracks around Mont Ventoux. A car is recommended for travelling to other communities. Many tourist and cultural events are organised in Vaison la Romaine, Carpentras, and Avignon.
