2. A restored Qing Dynasty house
Come here to feel at home in authentic rural China. This is a restored Qing Dynasty house, in a small fishing-farming village. It sits beside the Li River, among the mystical karst mountains. The house is an example of Qing Dynasty craftsmanship at its finest. The stone, wood and brick home has been standing proud for nearly 150 years. It has been carefully renovated to ensure the continued life and enjoyment of the house, in its original, beautiful state. While preserving the authentic architecture, upgrades have been made that include a hot shower and high-speed internet.
LaoJia is comprised of two houses with five bedrooms, each with a large bed that sleeps two people. Each bedroom has its own private, adjoined meditation and study room, in which extra sleeping arrangements can be arranged, if desired. There is a common bathroom and toilet room. For a cost of 25 RMB (3.97 USD), you can enjoy fresh, healthy vegetarian meals, prepared daily by a local woman from the village.
