A few tips!
Like in Spain, most businesses in Sicily take a siesta in the afternoon, so most important shopping should be done in the morning. Also, dinner is eaten later than usual, and even at 9 p.m., you’ll be among the earlier ones. You will see a bit of crazy driving on the streets and more so the further south you go, so watch out when you’re on the road. Communication could also be a problem at times since English and Italian are only spoken in most tourist areas, and the farther away you move from them, the locals mostly speak Sicilian dialect. However, the warm and friendly people, the delicious food, and the rich culture make this trip unforgettable–especially when you stay in one of the lovely Airbnb rentals listed above.
