Tacla, Chile is located southeast of Santiago, the country’s capital. The beautifully restored house from the 1950s is perfect for you. The hosts have taken great care in curating the house and picking out the decor. There’s room for up to seven guests, split over three bedrooms and five beds. You have a combined kitchen and living room, which is perfect for cooking and talking with your guests/friends. As well as this space, there’s also a separate dining room. The bedrooms are all located on the second floor, with a bathroom with bath as well. 3. Hostel Plaza Maule
There’s room for more than 16 guests in this hostel, but you’re only paying for two beds, within a private bedroom. The house is only five minutes away from the bus station, as well as five minutes from the downtown city area. Enjoy the common spaces, including the kitchen, dining room and living room. There’s also an onsite laundry facility, as well as off-street parking. Staying in a hostel may fill you with fear, but this one is kept to a high standard of cleanliness, and the host takes pride in his house.

4. Perfect family home, near the mountains
This beautiful family home has room for up to three guests, spread over two bedrooms. There’s free parking onsite, and the house is also surrounded by a metal fence, so you’ll never feel unsafe. You have great views from the house, looking over La Virgen - one of the nearby hills. The house is conveniently close to all the local public transport links, and if you’re unsure what to do, the hosts even offer trips to nearby tourist locations, including out to the countryside and the nearby mountain range.

7. Double bedroom close to the university and centre of town
This beautiful private room has space for up to two guests, in an ideal and central location. The apartment is close to the local supermarket, as well as being behind the Santo Thomas University. The house is only six blocks away from the centre of town. There’s a double bed in the room, and the shared bathroom is just across the hall. If you’ve driven into town, you’ll be happy to take advantage of the internal covered parking. The host is very welcoming and can give you all the advice you need during your stay.

Enjoy this beautiful room within the host’s bed and breakfast. Despite being in the centre of town, the house is quiet, and as if you’re in the middle of nowhere - thanks to a beautiful outdoor patio, and an abundance of fruit trees in the garden. There’s room for up to three guests, with both a double bed and an additional single. You do share the bathroom, although it’s only shared with the hostess. The host also provides breakfast for you. There’s no off-street parking available, although it’s normal in the area to park on the street.

As well as your own bedroom, you also have access to the kitchen and living room, which are shared with the hosts. For a very small additional cost, the host’s grandma has offered to cook you a daily, delicious lunch. There’s also fast wifi available in the house. The hosts have a ginger cat that you will also be sharing the spaces with. The house is only about 10 minutes away from the local bus station, putting it in a great location.
