Though traveling in Milan is affordable, finding a good hostel here can be challenging since the high rated ones tend to provide expensive dorm beds starting from about 30 EUR (roughly 33.5 USD), including the city tax and other extra fees. Among those, Scream House Hostel is an ideal choice for low-budget travellers visiting Milan. This central-located hostel accommodates both the young and the elderly who are coming from all around the world.

Prices during the low season (around December and summer months between June and August) start from 8 EUR (about 9 USD) per night per bed in a mixed 6-bed dorm. The beds are warm, comfy, and close to multiple power plugs. There are lots of space in these dorms, and a large window so you can get fresh air when needed. Lockers are in the main hall, but you need to rent a lock from the reception to store important belongings. The hostel does not accept early check-ins before 2PM because of daily cleaning. However, you can leave your luggage here and go around the city in case of an early arrival.

Their small and cozy kitchen is very similar to that of an old Italian household. There are free kitchen equipments and a fridge to store your food. Though eating out is rather cheap in Italy, home-cooking is a good way to save money for those staying in the hostel on a long term basis. As there is no lounge for guests to hang out, the kitchen is an ideal common space for you to mingle with the others.

A Calm Environment

It’s rare to find in Milan such a calm atmosphere as the one at Scream Hostel. The hostel’s policy is to keep quiet after 11 PM, so you can escape the wild parties to relax while chatting with other people. Milan is a hectic and noisy metropolitan city, especially in the central area around Piazza di Duomo. Not only do the local people fond of being here, but also visitors will enjoy getting away from the busy lifestyle for a while to retreat to this calm and quiet atmosphere.
