If you have spent time in San Luis Obispo, you have probably heard of Apple Farm Inn. It is one of the more famous names in this quaint town, but the question is, why? What makes Apple Farm Inn so special? And is it really worth all the hype it gets? That was my question when I decided to stay at Apple Farm Inn. It only took one night for me to find my answer. Apple Farm Inn is a fantastic hotel that made me feel right at home and I would recommend it with flying colors to anyone visiting San Luis Obispo, California.
This charming inn will steal your heart
The minute I pulled into the parking lot I knew I was going to adore Apple Farm Inn. The entire hotel has a Victorian-mansion feel with a home-style charm that will make you want to stay forever. Even in the heat of summer, flowers were blooming everywhere and a massive watermill decorates the yard. Whether you spend your time in the gift shop, the restaurant, or by the pool, you are bound to fall in love with every inch of Apple Farm Inn. And that’s before you even get inside your room! Of course, it’s not just the space that will win your heart. The concierge at Apple Farm Inn was one of the nicest, most helpful people I have ever met. He gave me some fantastic dining recommendations (more on that later) and reminded me to come back for the evening happy hour. Within two minutes of walking inside the Apple Farm Inn, I understood where and how it got its reputation.
You will never want to leave your room
I opened the door to my hotel room and felt my eyes double in size. It was beautiful. The two massive king-size beds that felt like you were sleeping on clouds, Victorian-style sitting area, bay window, flat screen television, gas fireplace, and pristine bathroom were more than I could have asked for. Just to go above and beyond, they had a bottle of sparkling apple cider and a bowl of Hershey’s Kisses waiting for me upon arrival. If it hadn’t been such a beautiful day in San Luis Obispo when I was there, I may very well have never left that incredible bedroom. The rooms run from 129 USD to 219 USD per night, include free Wi-Fi, and are ideal for couples or families of four.
Enjoy the proximity to downtown San Luis Obispo
One of the highlights of staying at the Apple Farm Inn was the ability to walk downtown. It’s only a short ten minute walk to reach downtown and the city is full of fun things to do. I especially enjoyed eating at Novo, a romantic local dining option, Blast 825 Pizza, a build-your-own pizza parlor with an amazing selection of beers, and Goshi, an out-of-this-world option for delicious Japanese food. Beyond eating, San Luis Obispo has a downtown full of adorable shops and a historic mission, all of which are well worth your time.
Stay at Apple Farm Inn for a memorable experience
My time at Apple Farm Inn was truly incredible. The Inn was amazing, the location was super convenient, and every minute of my visit was perfect. The hotel is pretty large, so it is not ideal if you are looking for the off-the-beaten path experience, but sometimes places become well known for a reason. Apple Farm Inn may not be hidden gem, but it is a gem, nevertheless.
