Philadelphia could be the most historic city in America. To see the prime historical attractions in the City of Brotherly Love, you need at least twenty-four hours and that means staying overnight. Philly is one of the most pedestrian friendly cities in the U.S. so you can walk to many of the places you’ll want to see as long as you choose a centrally located hotel like the Windsor Suites.

Room to move around in comfort

When you choose the Windsor Suites, you can stay in a spacious and comfortable suite while enjoying easy access to some of the world’s best museums and attractions. Be forewarned that if you drive to the Windsor Suites, parking your car costs around 42 USD per night. The good news is that parking facility is connected to the hotel. Arriving by train is one of the best ways to get into the heart of Philadelphia and the Windsor Suites is a mere mile from Amtrak’s 30th Street Station.

Upon entering, you might be fooled by the lobby’s small size that the suites are similar. These spacious suites are 450 sq ft (41.8 sq m) or larger and offer a fully equipped kitchen, two closets, a dining area, and most of the suites have excellent views. Whether you choose a double-one bedroom, king studio, double studio, or the king bed suite you will have ample space and comfort.

The beds and linens are above average in quality and comfort. The double top mattresses seem to have that perfect firmness for most guests. Bathrooms have a tub and shower combination. Luxury Bath Products from Gilchrist and Soames await when it’s time to get freshened up.

For guests who like to travel with their dog, the Windsor Suites welcomes pets without an additional pet fee. The central location puts you in a short walk of Penn Square and Dilworth Park for walking your dog.

If you want to cook

View from the rooftop pool

The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, gas stove, and microwave should you wish to prepare your own meals. The dining table faces the big picture window for views of the city. You can arrange to have groceries delivered from the nearby Trader Joe’s making in-room dining a breeze.

Other amenities include the rooftop pool, which opens in late May and has a great view of the Penn Square area. A fitness center is also onsite if you want to stay in shape while traveling. Every floor has a coin operated laundry for your convenience.

Walk about

Del Frisco's vault dining room

Philadelphia was one of the first cities in North America to implement the grid layout for its streets. Designed by William Penn, founder of Philadelphia, the city plan called for four town squares, equal distance apart and on main town square in the middle. This grid design make Philadelphia an easy city to walk about as you explore. Shops and restaurants are in abundance just minutes from the Windsor Suites.

Walk the historic Chestnut or Walnut Streets to search out some of the city’s best restaurants and shopping. Try Joe’s Pizza where decades of dishing up a local favorite, “Tomato Pie,” is a must. For an over-the-top steak house experience, check out Del Friscos Double Eagle Steak House. This fine dining establishment is housed in an opulent and historic First Pennsylvania Bank building where you can dine in the old bank vault!

Pleasant memories

Philadelphia will provide a myriad of experiences to last a lifetime. To make the most of your trip, a hotel stay at the Windsor Suites will add to the pleasant memories.
