Vietnamese Noodles And How To Pronounce Their Names
Some say Vietnam is the culinary gem of Southeast Asia. Others say nutritious food is a must in this part of the world. I say... YES to both! I grew up in another part of the world, which is well-known for its culinary delights, but Vietnamese food still blows my palate with goodness because of how nutritious, yummy, and surprisingly affordable the food is. Vietnam is known for its noodle-based dishes. You’re probably aware of that. But did you know that there is more than one kind of noodle served in most Vietnamese eateries? In fact, there are five main noodle types. I have had the privilege to have tasted each and every one of them in different dishes. And in this article, I will share my knowledge of this part of the world’s culinary delicacy. Before we begin, there’s one thing you need to know about Vietnamese dishes: they are abundantly green. Most of the main dishes come with a big bowl of greens, typically consisting of lettuce and cilantro. And the best part is, you can always ask for more!

In this article, let me introduce you to Hue's hidden gem: a secluded beach located in Phu Thuan Village. This beach offers a peaceful ambiance where, from my own experience, no commercial tourist would even glance on. Don't take it the wrong way, it does not mean this beach is not worth it. It is just located further away from touristy areas, which actually gives you more reason to visit.

25 Things To Do In Hoi An, Vietnam, Over The Weekend - Updated 2025
The city of Hoi An in Vietnam was formerly known as Fai-Fo / Faifoo. It is situated in the Quang Nam province of the country. Located south of Da Nang, on the coast of the South China Sea, Hoi An is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This city has a varied history, starting from the Cham era, through to times of Dutch / Portuguese influences, and also with trading relations with Japan, China, India, and various countries in Europe. The weather is best during May and June when the seas and winds are calm so schedule your trip during this time if you can. You can get around Hoi An using motorbikes; taxis are a little expensive. You can charter motorbike taxis/boats for specific time periods. You must purchase a ticket for entry to the Old Town for 120,000 VND (approximately 6 USD), which provides a self-guided tour and entry to 5 selected places in the heritage area. It is technically valid for 24 hours, though time periods are often quite flexible. You can choose to see heritage houses, the Japanese Covered Bridge, museums, etc (details are on the ticket). These are some of the best things to do in Hoi An, Vietnam, over the weekend.
