I am a resident of Cambridge for the last three decades who thinks all people who visit the UK must come to visit Cambridge. Why? Some of the most important scientific discoveries of all time have taken place in Cambridge, some at times when the city was much smaller than its current population of 150,000. Ideas and concepts that are part of our everyday lives such as press freedom, religious freedom, the relationship between monarchy and parliament, the importance of education in society, women's rights, have been either started, promoted or resisted by men and women who have lived in Cambridge.
