1. Feast your eyes on Thousand Island Lake (Qiandaohu)

The Thousand Island Lake is otherwise known as Qiandaohu. This is one of the most scenic spots in the whole of Chun'an and is a man-made lake. This lake was formed soon after the Xin'an River hydroelectric station was constructed and completed in 1959. Around 1,078 large islands dot this lake and thousands of other smaller ones are scattered around it. The lake provides drinkable water at times. This is one spot photography enthusiasts should visit so as to capture picturesque images. It is said that the best time to visit this lake is during autumn and winter when there is less rainfall and comfortable temperatures.

The environment which is set in the thousand islets gives visitors an opportunity to walk around the nature reserve. 4. Visit Xidi Ancient Village

Xidi Ancient Village is one beautiful site that has to be visited when on a trip to Chu'an. It is located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Huangshan Mountain. Xidi Village was listed as one of the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO back in 2000.

The Xidi Ancient Village depicts how the locals lived and their respective features. The village is very charming and gives a fairy tale-like feel. Beautiful mountains surround the village.

Paddy fields are also interspersed throughout the village. A notable feature of the village is a beautiful memorial archway at the entrance. This was built in honor of a respected official that ruled during the mid-Ming Dynasty.

5. Da'ming Mountain, Lin'an

Visiting Chun'an in winter and looking for some skiing? Look no further and head straight to Da'ming Mountain in Lin'an. Every December, the Daming Mountain Skiing Festival will be held in full gusto at the Da'ming Mountain ski resort. This festival will usually last until mid-March.

The Da'ming Mountain is home to the Da'ming ski resort and is the highest and largest ski resort in East China. The skiing area can accommodate up to 2,000 skiers at once. What makes the Da'ming Mountain more special is that it is the only provincial level scenic area in Lin'an. The scenery of the snow clad mountain is something that needs to be seen to be believed. When the festival is on, do not miss the snow sculptures built on the mountain top.

6. Qiandao Lake Jinfeng Canyon Rafting Scenic Resort
