1. Regional Arts Center

Texarkana’s Regional Arts Center is located in the former Federal District Courthouse. Since 1985, the building has been used by the Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council. Inside, the old courtroom was revamped into an elegant hall adorned with paintings. There is also a visual arts section that’s open all year and features touring exhibits as well as regional and local exhibits. 5. Redbone Magic Brewing

One of the best spots for a group hangout in Texarkana is Redbone Magic Brewing. This special hometown brewery not only serves a great selection of spirits but live music is also regularly hosted on Fridays and Saturdays here too. 6. Draughon-Moore Ace of Clubs House

Don’t know what to do in Texarkana? The Draughon-Moore Ace of Clubs House is a historic museum registered in the National Register of Historic Places. The house was built in 1885 as a private residence with an Italianate Victorian architectural style. The house has 2 stories and due to its different shape, it has 22 sides. The house has been operating as a museum from 1988, prior to that, three families have lived here. Restoration of the house was done and each room was restored differently. The house caters for business and club meetings, lawn parties, weddings, and different events. Victorian Christmas celebrations are also hosted in the house.

7. Perot Theatre

The Perot Theatre, located on the Main Street of Texarkana, was built in the year 1924. The theater was formerly known as Saenger Theatre and is now a fully restored Italian theater, which has hosted shows of Douglas Fairbanks. This popular place in Texarkana hosts off-Broadway shows, concerts, ballets and other productions. The theater has intricate gold gilded designs all around the facade. It is the gem of Texarkana and you must visit it whenever you go there. You can also stop by for a free tour.

8. Discovery Place Children’s Museum

The Discovery Place Children’s Museum features science and history related exhibits. There is a Tesla show held here, and the permanent exhibits include a sound wall, biology laboratory, dental exhibit, costume theater, sound experiments, and an old fashioned kitchen. The exhibitions here are focused mainly on audiences from kindergarten to 6th grade. The experience here is wonderful and every exhibit here teaches something new to visitors.

9. Museum of Regional History

The Texarkana Museum of Regional History is located in one of the oldest standing brick structures of the city, which is dated back to 1879. You can see Caddo, archeological artifacts, early farming tools, and World War II and Civil Rights history here. There is an interactive music exhibit which tells visitors about native Scott Joplin. The museum also features the Wilbur Smith Research Library and Archives. The archives have a collection of over 10,000 documents and photographs about the people and the area. The museum has a nominal charge of 5 USD per person as an entrance fee.

10. Perot Leadership Museum

The Perot Leadership Museum is located in the lobby of Texarkana College library. The permanent exhibit is a replica of Gabriel Ross Perot’s cotton office. It also has pictures and descriptions of the business and political career of H. Ross Perot. On the left wall inside the cotton brokerage building, there is a life quotes section which is very empowering. The exhibit also features a timeline mural representing events of H. Ross Perot’s professional and personal life.

11. Haunted Texarkana Ghost Walk

It’s now time for one of the best activities in Texarkana! The Haunted Texarkana Ghost Walk starts from the Lindsey Railroad Museum, so if you come early, you can go through a quick tour of the museum. They open the doors for tickets an hour before the tour starts, and the tour includes 90 minutes of walking around the old Texarkana, covering up to one mile (1.6 km). The guides will take you to different places where ghosts are supposed to be, and they will inform you about the different supernatural events that took place there. This is one of the best things to do at night if you visit Texarkana.

12. Four States Auto Museum

Four States Auto Museum is an automotive museum located in Texarkana. The museum was opened in 2004 and exhibits 22 cars and all the exhibition cars are changed every 3 months. This attraction in Texarkana also has a library where you can find books related to automobiles, periodicals, and newsletters. All the displayed cars display four to five decades of automobile manufacturing, along with other related items.

13. Bobby Ferguson Park

Bobby Ferguson Park is named in the honor of Texarkana’s mayor. The Bobby Ferguson Park covers several acres of land and it has a man-made lake where you can find Canadian geese and ducks. There is a picnic pavilion located on the north side of the lake which is newly built. There is a hiking trail all around the lake and there is also a children’s playground, along with many picnic tables in the park. The picnic pavilion also has clean restrooms.

14. Texarkana Farmer’s Market

The Texarkana Farmer’s Market is a local seasonal market. The market is open air and is located in historic downtown Texarkana. The vendors here sell fresh, locally grown natural products. The featured products here are fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, crafts, baked products, eggs, meat, and home-canned items. Farm fresh and nutrition packed items are available in the Texarkana farmers market, so it’s a great place to grab some food.

15. Spring Lake Park

Spring Lake Park is the pride of Texarkana. The park has open green spaces with picnic areas, playground units, an 18 hole disc golf course, and a spring fed lake. There is a walking track named after Philip McDougal, which goes throughout the park, and the park also has Swanger Sports complex inside it. The park has recently added two new additions; one is a Rotary Splash Pad and the other is the Kylee Sullivan pet safe dog park, for pets visiting with the owners.
