1. Visit Puerta de Bisagra
Puerta de Bisagra, or Bisagra Gate, is a historical city gate in Toledo that is also known as Puerta Nueva de Bisagra, or New Bisagra Gate. This entryway is popular as it seemingly resembles a castle with an entrance arc flanked by two roofed towers and a green, spacious courtyard. Designed and built by the Spanish architect Alonso de Covarrubias in 1559, the gate is commonly described as a Renaissance-style structure but some of its elements and parts are of Moorish and Muslim inclination.
Bisagra Gate leads to some of Toledo’s famous structures and monuments such as El Alcazar, Zocodover Square, and La Juderia, the Jewish Quarter.

2. Head to Sinagoga del Tránsito
The impressive Sinagoga del Tránsito, or Synagogue of El Tránsito, is a historic synagogue, church, and home to Toledo’s Sephardic Museum. It was converted into a church in 1492, shortly used as a military barracks in the early 1800s, and then became a museum in 1910. Today, together with the museum, it is a reminder of the history of Sephardic and Jewish culture of Spain.
Themed tours and cultural activities are regularly held in this synagogue and schedules are currently released following health regulations from authorities.

3. Check out Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes
To give it its full title, the Monasterio de San Juan de Los Reyes is a church located on the outskirts of Toledo in Cigarrales. The monastery was built in the Isabelline style by the Catholic monarchs. The location of the parish is unique, as there are no homes in the area, with just a few streets surrounding the monastery. Of particular interest to visit are the two cloisters inside the church. However visitors are warned to be respectful if a service is being held.

6. See what's buzzing at Plaza de Zocodover
What is Toledo famous for? Well, here it is. The Plaza de Zocodover was originally a market place where animals were sold during the Moor occupation. The site where the Caves of Hercules can be found has a rich architectural past. In Roman times, a water tank was built here to supply inhabitants of the city, as part of a hydraulic network. 13. Stop by the extraordinary Alcázar of Toledo
The Alcázar stands on the highest hill in Toledo and is located on the outskirts of the city. The site appears to have always been a fortified location with evidence found of its Roman and Moorish past. The current building was constructed under the order of Emperor Carlos V as a royal palace. While the former medieval castle was destroyed during construction, some battlement structures remain on the building’s east façade.

The Castle of San Servando dates back to the Roman era and was later a monastery under the Visigoths. An Arabic fortress was then built on the site. When King Alfonso VI took the city of Toledo in 1085, the fortress was converted into a monastery, dedicated to Saint Servando and Saint German, who the king claimed had saved his life in the Battle of Sagrajas. Nowadays the building is used as a unique hostel for travelers.
