While the hotel does not offer breakfast, there are great dining options nearby, and some rooms feature in-room coffee makers and fridges.

Just a one minute walk from the beach, you’ll stumble upon this hotel, which has stunning views and even its own private beach! We naturally think that the best view is from the rooftop fitness center, but after that, you can head to the spa before returning to your wooden-trimmed bedroom with beach view - ahh, bliss.

Another property that is just one minute walk from the beach, you’ll be spoilt for choice with this listing! We love the elegant simplicity of the bedrooms and the hotel in general, although our favorite feature has to be the four-poster beds. You can wake up in the morning, open your curtains and look straight onto the sea, perfect after falling asleep to the sound of waves.

We’ve gone a bit further afield this time, so the beach is now a two-minute walk away, but don’t worry, you can still hear the waves! Just off of the historic Cannery Row, this family-friendly hotel offers on-site dining and spacious, modern rooms.

With direct beach access, this hotel is a must stay! If the beach is too cold, be sure to check out the year-round heated pool, before heading to the on-site Cafe Beach Restaurant, for some fantastic food. Bedrooms are very comfortable, with some offering seating areas and fireplaces. You’ll be well refreshed after any length of stay at the Monterey Tides.

A bit further afield, but still in a fantastic location close to the waves, is the Stevenson Monterey, at a 10 minutes’ walk from the beach. As an added bonus, it is also within walking distance to Fishermans Wharf, which is a fantastic day out. The bedrooms are fairly spacious and although basic, are comfortable.

Three minutes from the beach, the Best Western Plus Victorian Inn features cozy rooms, wooden features, a comfortable bed and a fantastic price for its location. Each room has a fireplace so that you can stay cozy during the winter months and have the windows open in summer to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and listen to the waves. It is worth noting that there are only partial views of the beach available here.

This newly renovated hotel is in a fantastic location, just two minutes’ walk from the beach. The rooms are spacious and bright, with plenty of space to relax in and a small seated area, from where you can gaze out the window and watch the world pass by. We particularly love the kitchen in this property, which is huge!

New facilities, spacious rooms, valet parking, on-site bar and dining area.
Great location downtown, walking distance to Main Street, restaurants, and Fisherman’s Wharf.
Extremely nice breakfast with lots of options, but some guests did not like the muffins.
On the main street, just six minutes from the beach, this classic Marriott hotel has two on-site restaurants and an outdoor pool. The walk to the beach is so short that you’ll be falling asleep to the sound of the waves in no time if you choose to stay here. You can expect the usual standard from this Marriott hotel and be sure to enjoy breakfast at the In + Field Restaurant and Bar, which specializes in Californian coastal cuisine.
