Genting Highlands, also known as Banjaran Titiwangsa, is to Malaysia what Las Vegas is to the USA. It’s not just the casino experience, the hotels, the numerous outlets, the international acts performing live, and the lively nightlife that make the two similar: this hill station practically has something to offer in every nook and cranny. What’s more, unlike Las Vegas itself, it also has natural attractions to offer its guests. Plenty of homey Airbnb vacation rentals are also available. The cool weather doesn’t hurt either, especially for those who want to take a break from the usually warm weather of Kuala Lumpur. Check out this list of the top things to do in Genting Highlands, Malaysia.

1. Have fun at Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park (from USD 13.69)

About to head out the door but noticed the dark clouds hovering over Genting Highlands? Don’t worry, because you can still have fun during your holiday at Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park. Because it’s located right inside a mall, you and your family can have a good time trying the different rides there no matter what the weather is outside. Love theme parks but hate the long lines? 2. Soar in the sky on the Awana SkyWay Gondola Cable Car

The Awana SkyWay Gondola of Genting Highlands is said to be the longest cable car system in Southeast Asia, as well as the world’s fastest. Riding this will not just allow you to enjoy the cool breeze from on high, it will also allow you to soar over a verdant rainforest (if you’re lucky, you can get the gondola with the glass floors to give you a better view of the surroundings). The cable car takes a stop in the middle of the journey to allow its passengers to explore the Chin Swee Caves Temple. Each gondola can hold up to 10 people.

Genting Strawberry Leisure Farms is serious about strawberries - not only does it allow visitors to pick their own strawberries (or buy pre-packed ones, for those who don’t want to do the picking themselves), it also gives them plenty of photography opportunities as many of the place’s decors are strawberry-themed. This fruit, however, is not the only thing that you can find here: there are also lavender fields, a mushroom farm, a bee farm, and other fruits and vegetables.
