Moreover, the hotel provides a service for hiring cars and bikes, and at the main entrance there is an entire area dedicated to tourist booklets and trip suggestions. Every floor is easily accessible by elevator, and rooms are cleaned weekly. The energy in the hotel is very refreshing, and it is very relaxing to have a drink at the lobby bar, or just grab something to take to your room.
Fuel up for your exciting adventures
Rooms at Smarthotel Oslo are available for a price of approximately 500 NOK (approximately 55 USD) per night without breakfast for each person. You can still have breakfast and dinner in the hotel if you want to, but at an additional fee. Bills cannot be charged to your room, so remember to take money with you when going for a bite. The morning buffet area is amazing, and the variety of food offered is incredible. It is generally an all-you-can-eat option for 110 NOK (approximately 12 USD). But it is really worth it, especially considering the prices you find outside in normal cafés and restaurants. All cultures are satisfied, and you can find everything from classic American breakfast with bacon and eggs, to the mostly European croissants and biscuits style. The best part may just be the waffle maker, where you can make your own waffles and fill them with Nutella, marmalade or honey syrup. Really not to be missed!
No pressure, leave when you want, how you want
Another nice characteristic of the hotel is the self check out feature, where you don’t need to wait at the reception desk, and can smoothly leave the hotel by just dropping the key in the deposit box. This is the reason why you have to pay on the spot for everything you buy (like drinks and breakfast), and can’t charge them to your room. But if you prefer, you can still talk to the reception staff and check that everything is alright. They are very friendly and available to help you, as in the Norwegian tradition, so don’t be shy and ask them whatever you need. They will help you in settling your departure arrangements and finding the best way to reach your next destination.

Smarthotel Oslo, just love it!
The hotel is an unforgettable experience and it is a very good option if you want to save some money but still be in the very center of the city. It is perfect for young travellers and backpackers. The best way to reach it from the main station, is by bus. It is only a few minutes’ journey and it costs you around 30 NOK (approximately 3.5 USD). It can be quite confusing to find the right bus, but inside the station area there is a very efficient help desk where you can ask for information and buy tickets. If you are brave enough, you can also go on foot, since it takes only around 20 minutes. I will suggest to take the bus when you first arrive, and get off at bus stop Olav Platz. But it is definitely a nice walk to have on your departure day, when you are more familiar with Oslo’s streets. So what are you waiting for? Do it smart!
