Named after Frank Bonifay, a man who had a brick-making factory in the place, Bonifay is a small city in Florida. It is located in Holmes County and was integrated in the year 1921. This historic one-room log cabin is situated in Bonifay and dates back to 1886. It is a great and rare 19th-century cabin built with “Louisiana” roof, that stands the test of time. A tour of the cabin is one of the great ways to teach children about olden times. There is a big, beautiful ground surrounding the cabin, for kids to have fun after the tour. Various activities are organized by the Keith Cabin Foundation where there is live entertainment, food and loads of fun for all visitors.

Castaway Seafood is a small establishment in Bonifay, Florida that provides some excellent seafood. The atmosphere is very friendly and the waitresses are super helpful. Food portions are large and the prices are reasonable. It is a highly recommended place if you happen to be in the area. Also, don’t forget to try their shrimp preparation, it is highly praised and is delicious.

Located in the rural area of Panhandle in Florida, the Old Oaks Vineyard, grows white grapes, red grapes and fruits. The vineyard focuses on producing some great quality, good tasting wines. Wine tastings are also offered at this winery, with some of the flavours being watermelon, peach, pumpkin, along with the white and red wines. It also makes a good day trip when in Bonifay, Florida.

5. Handpick the blueberries at Tison Blueberry Farm
Tison Blueberry Farm, located on Waukesha Street in Bonifay is a family-owned farm, which is open to visitors from late May till end June. They handpick their blueberries, which are then sent off to the local market for selling. They even let the visitors experience fresh blueberry picking, which is a refreshing experience, especially for kids. The blueberries are fresh, sweet-tasting and well-priced.

9. Take a stroll at Bonifay's Veterans’ Memorial Park
Veterans’ Memorial Park is located on the west of state highway number 79 in Bonifay. Entry to the park is free of cost and it has two separate playground areas for kids. There is fencing on all sides and the park houses two large tennis courts. It is a well-maintained area with numerous benches, several gazebos and a well-marked walking trail. There is a designated parking space for people who decide to come by their private vehicles and it is right next to the main entrance.

Bonifay Recreation Center on Mc Kinnon Avenue is a good place to spend some time with family and kids. It has a well-planned layout with some really good amenities. Parking is nearby, which is an added advantage for people bringing large sports gear. It has a good running track in case you fancy a jog. The baseball park is well maintained to enjoy a game or two. The celebrations on the 4th of July are really good with some amazing fireworks.

11. Enjoy a day at Middlebrooks Park

If you are looking for a day filled with loads of outdoor activities, then head to this beautiful park in Bonifay. Children will have a great time at the merry-go-round, swings and playground. There is a splash pad that has been recently added to add to the activities of little kids. And if you fancy a run or ride on a bicycle, then there is a featured trail especially for that. It is a great place to host birthday parties and small events too. Middlebrooks Park is a nice way of enjoying the outdoors in Florida.
