With slabs from Sierra Elvira, its current name is attributed to the women of the Pas region in Cantabria (where Pasiegan butter cakes come from). Instead of buttercakes, these women were apparently involved in trading fabric and working as housekeepers in the square, contributing their name to this emblematic place in Granada.

Its minaret is decorated with beautiful golden Kufic inscriptions, adapted from the architecture of the Tower with the Shahada. These elements hold significant symbolic meaning and offer protection to the mosque. The famous crescent crowning, derived from the goddess Astarte and later prominent during the Ottoman era remains a key Muslim symbol throughout the Anatolian area. This rental is just a short walk away from Alhambra, where you'll find several Nazarene slogans. One of them is in Arabic and translates to "There is no winner than Allah." There are various ways to interpret it, but it's often erroneously done from a war point of view. Arabic is a complex language full of nuances. It's not that Allah conquers, it's He that remains. Everything will disappear, including the magnificent Alhambra, but God won't. This place is a memorial made from ephemeral materials inspired by eternity.

Plan a visit to the beautiful Palacio de Dar al-Horra

Palacio de Dar al-Horra is the most important Andalusian palace in Granada after the Alhambra. It seems that it was built within the Kadima Alcazaba by Badis, king of the Zirí dynasty, which makes it much older than the Alhambra. Even Muhammad I, the first founder of the Nasrid dynasty, was able to use it.
The palace is named after Mrs. Honesta Aixa, one of its most important inhabitants. She was Boabdil’s mother, perhaps one of the most important women of the dynasty. Being repudiated by her husband, she was her son’s great advisor during the war for the throne and influenced state policy in the history of our sultanate. The palace features a garden on the second floor, and its irrigation channel comes through the Arco de las Monjas, which is a small aqueduct. It’s famous because it seems that the Carlists were executed by hanging from it.
