Manado (North Sulawesi, Indonesia), besides being famous for its world-class marine park on Bunaken Island, is also known as a transit city for tourists before continuing their journey to Sorong in Papua, which is also popular for its underwater paradise named Raja Ampat. Upon your arrival at Novotel Manado, you will get a welcome drink (a cup of fruit juice), and after checking in you will be led to your room by a bellboy who will help you carry your luggage. After spending some time in the room, you will find that the room and the private bathroom are spotlessly clean, featuring hotel amenities like cable TV, a coffee maker, and toiletries. All of which are normal for a 4-star hotel, except the Wi-Fi is faster than many other hotels as there is a Wi-Fi router placed in each of the rooms. Rates start from 59.95 USD, and if you want to have a green view from your window, book a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor as although they don’t have a balcony, you can still see the golf course from the window.
Delicious breakfast at Square Restaurant
Coming with the rate is a delicious breakfast buffet at Square Restaurant that includes many varieties of Indonesian and Continental foods. They have bacon, burgers, black forests, breads, yogurt, and sushi too! Don’t miss the savory and sweet-smelling local delicacy of ‘bubur Manado’ (porridge with veggies) and the ‘kebab’ (barbecued skewered meat and veggies), grilled at the kebab station. Everything served in this restaurant is delicious, so have a little bit of everything so that you can have a taste of all of them. This restaurant is also conveniently located by the swimming pool, where you can have your meal at its terrace and enjoy the beautiful ambience from where you sit. Not only will you be able to see the pool, but also the hotel’s golf course and the blue Mount Loco! There are a few other restaurants and bars (Wasabi Japanese Restaurant, Seafood BBQ Alfresco, and Loco Wine and Cigar) in the hotel, so for lunch and dinner you can choose to have them in the hotel area as well. Do you want to spend some time outside the hotel area? Although the hotel is a distance from the city center, it is actually very close to Lippo Plaza, which is only a 10-minute walk away. It’s a big mall where you can shop for almost anything you need, eat at a top notch restaurant, and even watch a movie at the CinemaXX inside the mall.
Child-friendly facilities at Novotel Manado
Other than swimming in the kiddie pool, children can also enjoy their stay here too as they can play PlayStation and XBox consoles in the ‘kids room’, located near the lobby. If you happen to be travelling with a baby, they will provide you with a baby cot, together with its blankets. With so many wonderful amenities your money here is well spent, and there is no reason for you not to stay here when in Manado!
