The Sinai peninsula has long been a tourist destination for the discerning traveler. Sandy beaches that stretch on endlessly, towering granite mountains in the distance, turquoise waters of the Red Sea that are crystal clear so that one can actually see live corals and abundant sea life are all the ingredients for an outstanding vacation. A stay at the Coral Resort, formerly the Hilton, in Nuweiba is an excellent place to start your Sinai vacation.

Head to the water

The Beach at Coral Resort

Checking into the Coral Resort one is first impressed by the size of the hotel and grounds. The gardens are well tended, the grass is green which is remarkable in this parched desert, and the palm trees abound. In the center of the hotel is the jewel of a pool, perfect for children of all ages. The pool is surrounded by lounge chairs and shady umbrellas offering a wonderful place to relax and enjoy. A short walk brings you right down to the private beach, a long sandy strip with many lounge chairs and umbrellas as well as a bar serving cold drinks. Full sized beach towels are provided at both the pool and the beach upon presentation of a towel card.

Rooms at the resort

View of the Hotel

There are a variety of room options at the Coral Resort. The standard room (approximately 50 USD for a couple including breakfast) has two comfortable queen size beds as well as a sofa bed. Additional cots for children can be ordered to the room as well. Each room is outfitted with a small refrigerator, an alarm clock, and plenty of drawer and closet space. The bathrooms have large, glass enclosed stall showers, and a pampering assortment of shampoos, soaps and creams are provided. An electric kettle can be rented for 50 EGP (3 USD). The rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels are provided. Individual bungalows closer to the beach go for 70 USD and are slightly larger. There is also a five bedroom villa available that includes a full kitchen, dining room and living room, located directly on the beach.

Dining and more

Main Dining Room

The main dining room provides a buffet breakfast and dinner, daily. There is also an a la carte fish restaurant, Abu Lulu, which offers a menu of the freshest fish from the nearby sea. At the breakfast buffet there are a variety of hot and cold dishes, breads, pita, vegetables, cheeses, and omelets made to order. Coffee and tea are available as well. Room service is available 24 hours a day, and a bar serving cold drinks and snacks poolside is open all day as well.

In the area

Sinai Beach

If you stay for more than a few days at the Coral Resort you can avail yourself of the nearby scuba diving club, African Divers, which is a PADI certified dive club with instructors and dive masters. There are more than twenty dive sites in the immediate area, offering a beautiful peek at the underwater wonderland of corals and sea animals. The equipment and staff are outstanding and the dives (half day 40 USD, full day 70 USD) includes all equipment. Other day trips include nearby Dahab, a one hour drive south, where glass bottom boats can be rented for those who prefer to stay dry when looking at the corals. Snorkeling and diving trips can be arranged as well with the help of the reception desk at the Coral Resort.

A comfortable stay at an outstanding beach

A stay at the Coral Resort is comfortable, and allows you to enjoy the luxury of pool and air conditioning, along with the unparalleled beauty of the Sinai beaches.
