Did you know that along with Alhambra, Granada also houses several churches, each with an interesting history? One such example is Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro, which shows Granada's recovery after the French Invasion. It’s a Renaissance temple with decoration that tends towards baroque architecture. Its pine altarpieces were made by the same craftsman who made the organs in the capital of Granada.

Furthermore, one can catch a glimpse of Fray Luis de Granada overseeing the preachers at the Iglesia de Santo Domingo. Once orchards in Muslim times, this area later transformed into a complex of churches and convents. Its façade is adorned with a striking trompe-l'oeil (visual illusion), but the true spectacle lies within.

Alhambra
The restaurant is less than a 15-minute drive away from its inspiration: the Alhambra. The royal palace is also known for its grand feasts, such as the Feast of Mawlid in 1362, hosted by Ibn al-Jatib. The party started in the afternoon and lasted until dawn. To mark the passage of time, the Sultan ordered the placing of an "extraordinary clock", a complex clock that kept track of time through a lit candle, and in which "every time the hour passed, the little pebble fell onto the plate on which it resonated. You open the spot and you get the piece of paper, and so until the end of the night".
