Few cultures have mastered the art of close relationships quite like the Peruvians. In fact, natives of the nation’s capital city exemplify this enthusiasm for togetherness through their deep-rooted love for outdoor parks and recreational spaces, beach getaways, top-flight gastronomy, dance halls, weddings, coming-of-age celebrations, and a host of other traditions. Consequently, this also makes it a prime location for courtship and budding romance, of all kinds. Here are some of the best date night ideas for Lima, Peru.
1. Parque del Amor
The first stop one any couple’s itinerary in Lima should be the popular Lover’s Park, Parque del Amor. Set in the vibrant Miraflores district, it is a well-known site for tourists, skaters, families, and pubescent couples to dreamily waste the day away. It is also home to colorful, light-reflecting Spanish mosaics and a famous statue, depicting two giant lovers mid-smooch. This spot makes for a nice place to sit and relax or kick things up a notch by stealing aerial views of your lover while on an unforgettable paragliding flight, over the park and the Pacific Ocean.

8. Dance the night away!
Posted by La casa de la Salsa on Wednesday, 7 June 2017
The dance floor is the only surefire path to a Peruvian’s heart, so it’s only natural that it be included in this top 10 list of fun date night ideas to do in Lima. Unsurprisingly, salsa seems to be the local favorite, with limeños of all ages having at least some know-how. La Casa de la Salsa is a top pick for active couples who love to cut a rug but is also a suitable spot for good-natured people watching. Indeed, the music is sensational, the vibes are good, and the pisco flows freely here. There is one small caveat, however: despite being the best place in town for nonstop salsa, it is located just off the highway, in one of the more seedy areas of Lima. Never travel here alone, and always make sure to use a verified taxi service.
Meanwhile colorful peña shows, such as those that can be found at La Candelabra and del Carajo, boast live performances of traditional dances from various regions throughout the country, plus a three-course meal and cocktail, all at a fixed price.

9. Larco Museum (from USD 119.0)
Arguably the best cultural museum in Lima, El Museo Larco houses a very extensive selection of pre-Colombian Peruvian artifacts–from traditional Incan jewelry reserved for the nobility to complex funerary bundles, tapestries, and pottery works. Although the museum is perhaps best known for its raunchy collection of erotic statuettes, left over by the Mochi tribe, many are surprised to find a bountiful outdoor garden, with vibrant floral arrangements, a restaurant for fine dining, and two cute little gift shops, on site.

Also, besides being an exciting hub for local nightlife, the entire area becomes a satisfying delight for the senses–from the lovers’ fountain to the soft glow of night lamps illuminating the street art.
For best results, follow the moonlit path heading east towards the ocean, where you’ll find a romantic view of the water.
