This highly recommended ryokan in Nagasaki is especially popular because of the pretty views of the surrounding Nagasaki area. There is extensive parking available and it is just a short five-minute walk to the JR Nagasaki Train Station. This quiet and welcoming ryokan is perfect for those of you looking for a few days of rest. It is in a convenient location with a convenience store, eateries and local tourist attractions all within walking distance. This site has been welcoming and caring for guests since it first opened its doors in 1695 and is known as the oldest hot-spring in the area. The rooms are traditional Japanese, whereas the bathrooms are modern and western in style. Alongside the hot-spring baths which can be reserved for an additional cost, there are also open-air baths. The perfect place to relax and unwind under the stars.

Nestled an equal distance between the stunning and unique Unzen National Park and the crystal clear Kuchinotsu Harbor lies this ryokan. There are two types of rooms available at the inn; a family-style room that can sleep up to five guests and a room for couples. The ryokan is traditional in style so expect to be sleeping on futons. However, in the morning you can enjoy a continental breakfast. The onsite baths are smaller than some others on the list but they are very relaxing and comfortable.

There is only one type of room on-site and it sleeps two people on futon beds on the traditional tatami flooring. All of the rooms at this ryokan are also fitted with a kettle, flat screen television, and hairdryer. This is a very traditional ryokan with many small decorations and intricate artworks so it might not be suitable for young children.

The property is family-run so it feels very special and welcoming. We think that you’ll be well looked after here! With traditional steaming ovens in the shared kitchen, you can even try to cook food in a traditional way - just don’t burn yourself on the steam. It’s a fun experience. The onsen area itself is very calm and we love the design of the massage rooms. The rooms are equipped with a flat screen television and kettle. It is worth noting that the bathrooms are shared.
