2. 98 Center Restaurant
98 Center Restaurant is popular for its Vietnamese-inspired soups and sandwiches. Take, for example, the banh mi sandwich. 4. The Broken Oar

This restaurant is about waterfront dining at its finest - the Broken Oar Marina Bar and Grill is situated on lower Fox River and provides customers with beautiful river scenery. The panoramic views, spacious Skydeck and, apparently, the largest beer garden in McHenry County, draw customers in daily. Summer or winter, the Oar stage and party tent is set up to entertain guests. 5. Antica Forma

6. Quesadilla Mobilla
This place is actually not a restaurant per se, but a Mexican food truck! But it is situated permanently in a fairground, with a table and some chairs if you want to sit down and eat. Reviewers praised the quesadilla, with its nice and crunchy crust topped off with a generous filling. Salsa and chipotle sour cream dip also get top points. An interesting fusion quesadilla called ‘The New Mexico Crisis’ with a lot of cheese is well-liked by children. A huge sanitizer bottle is located right next to the take-out window if you need to clean your hands.

This is a classy Thai eatery that has a menu of curries and pad thai, classic Thai dishes. It also has pho on the menu, though reviewers praise the Tom Yum soup, especially on a wintry night by the restaurant’s fireplace. It is recommended to book in advance as the restaurant gets crowded.

8. Zax Restaurant

Zax Restaurant is located in downtown Moab, and it has been around over a long time - over 15 years! They tout themselves as having one of the largest selection of local brews around, so don’t forget to grab a mug of ice-cold beer when you’re there. Visitors say the fish and chips are lovely, with crispy fish and well-battered chips delivered piping hot. The salads and pizzas also achieve wonderful reviews.

9. Sunset Grill
Sunset Grill in Moab is apparently the oldest operating restaurant here. It has an interesting history; it was originally built by Charlie Sheen, a wealthy millionaire who struck gold because he discovered Uranium in the area. Currently the site of Sunset Grill, it serves traditional steak and seafood, atop a mountain that overlooks Moab and the desert beyond. When you dine here, be ready to drive up a narrow pathway, but the sunrise and sunset is supposedly worth the journey. The crab stuffed salmon and pecan coated chicken breast comes highly recommended.

10. Moab Diner
Moab Diner opened in the early 1960s as a burger joint offering 29 cents hamburgers. A drive-in popular with dating couples back then, it then became an ice-cream parlour, and today, it offers a full-service menu with beer, coffee, pancakes, omelettes, for breakfast, as well as burgers, steaks, salads for lunch and dinner. A very conventional American diner, it brings back memories of the 50s and 60s and attracts many regular diners, both locals and tourist.
