Take advantage of the free breakfast and use of the kitchen
Your accommodation at Backpackers Central Hamilton comes with a free continental breakfast. Your choices include toast, butter, jam, cereal, such as Weetabix, and milk. You also have use of their kitchen, which has two stoves with four burners, an oven, and two sinks to wash your dishes afterwards. There are some free supplies, such as spices and oil, that you can use. There are plenty of dishes and appliances at your disposal and a refrigerator to store your supplies. With Count Down (grocery store) located just blocks away, it makes it convenient to cook at the hostel if you don’t feel like eating some of your meals out.
Make your choice to stay in a dorm or private room
There are two buildings right next to each other, with only ten rooms in each. You can choose to have either a private room or a bed in a small six-bed dorm. With the dorm, you also have the option of staying in a female, male, or mixed dorm. The hostel does not allow drinking on the property, so you don’t need to worry about late night partiers in the room. Rooms cost 27 NZD (17.90 USD) for a dorm and start at 55 NZD (36.50 USD) for private rooms. All rooms have lockers in the room to store your valuables. Make sure to bring a lock, or you can buy one at the pharmacy store next door.
Stay in the heart of the city
Located four blocks from the bus station, it’s an easy walk to the hostel and also easy to book day trips to many popular attractions. There is plenty to do in the city from shopping at Central Place to gambling at the Sky City Casino. There’s an i-site visitor center right in the middle of town where you can book any tours and bus tickets. Traveler tip: Use Naked Bus - you can purchase a pack of 3 - 10 trips for a discounted price and they are good to take you anyplace the bus goes in New Zealand.
Make new friends in Hamilton
Everyone you meet at the hostel is happy to exchange his or her adventures with you, including the staff. There is an outdoor deck overlooking the street where you and your new friends can hang out and chat or play cards. You might even find yourself going out for a few drinks at Biddy Mulligan’s Irish Pub just a few doors down. Backpackers Central Hamilton is one place not to miss when staying in Hamilton.
