MuGa Park is known as Mülheim’s garden on the Ruhr, a place to walk or relax, a quiet and peaceful place. Lots of visitors enjoy the park because of the greenery and leisure facilities. The MuGa Park stretches directly on the left bank of the River Ruhr between the Schlossbrücke and the city viaduct of the former Rheinische Bahn. On the opposite side are the town hall and the city development project Ruhrbania.

The Broich Castle is located at the town centre of Mülheim an der Ruhr. The castle is located on Ruhrfurt of old Hellweg. The rooms of the Broich Castle are now being used for municipal receptions and for wedding ceremonies. The chambers can be rented also for private parties or company functions.
One can see the historical Museum of the Mülheim History Association which has a collection of ancient excavations, historic models and a “Luisen room” which gives a glimpse of history of Mülheim. From the year 2000, the two day Castle Rock Festival event has been continuously organized in the inner court of the new part of Broich Castle. Most of the bands that come to perform here are very popular and draw thousands of music fans from the Ruhr area.

4. A day visit to the Ruhr Museum

This is a famous museum of the natural and cultural history of Ruhr, which is Europe’s largest metropolitan area. A main attraction in the museum is the coals of Zollverein coal mine, which was designed by HG Merz office in Stuttgart. There is a café as well which caters to visitors here. You will also get to see pre-industrial collections in the museum and also collections on archaeology and natural history. The history of the present industrial Ruhr area is also represented here.
In 2010, the newly renovated Ruhr Museum was officially opened in the World Cultural Heritage Association in the presence of German President Kohler, and has since attracted thousands of visitors ever since.

Aquarius Wassermuseum is a water museum which is in a over 100 year old water tower. Visitors learn about water here. It uses modern technology and great architecture to give the visitors a good experience at the water museum.
The tour begins at 35 meters (114 feet) and gives you a great view of the Ruhr panorama. You will learn about the industrial history of water and sewage technology, and you will also learn about the functioning of a water tower, participate in a world water conference, understand how “virtual water” is in everyday use products, and also be able to determine your personal “water footprint”.

This is a beautiful natural lake where you can walk around on foot or go by bike to the surroundings of the area. The lake is not very large so you can walk round and enjoy the nearby woodland area with ease. The place is unspoiled and unpolluted and feels very natural. Particularly in summer, you can swim in the very clear water. Families often come here to enjoy a nice picnic. It is a very quiet and a place where you will feel close to Mother Nature.

This conference center and event center in Ruhr, Germany was built in the 1960s on the river side and is used for fairs, for congresses and music concerts. It has a capacity of 1,400 people standing or 1,114 people seated. Many famous performers who have performed there in the past include bands like Whitesnake, Metallica, King Crimson, The Cure and Judas Priest.

This is a nice family excursion destination in Müelheim an der Ruhr. The weather is pleasant all throughout the year, there are various varieties of animals here and a nice walking path where you can take a stroll, along with a playground for kids.
