Without a doubt, Grand Canyon is Arizona’s finest, colossal attraction. It is roughly 446 km (277 mi) long and about 29 km (18 mi) wide, offering 2 access points— North Rim and South Rim. Most tourists visit the park from South Rim because it is easily accessible and open year-round. Meanwhile, North Rim is about 16 km (10 mi) across the canyon from South Rim; however, it is a 354-km (220-mi) drive and quite challenging to access. Plus, the establishments and facilities at North Rim only operate between mid-May and mid-October. If you are an avid backpacker or hiker, you would likely be able to tread and appreciate the inner canyon despite its harsh desert conditions. But, of course, you’ll need a place to stay. If you are planning a camping trip, check out these campgrounds near Grand Canyon, Arizona.
