Party Market is a new boutique store found in Chigasaki on the main street called Kayama Yuzo Street. It is the main street starting from Chigasaki train station, all the way to the beach, and has many cute cafes, restaurants, and boutiques. It is approximately a 6 to 7 minute walk from the train station.

Party Market,as the name of the boutique suggests, is a boutique where you can find fun items for parties. You find colorful, cute, playful items that will make your parties one of a kind. This type of store is pretty new in Japan, as house parties are not as big as in Western countries. However, with the growing interests and familiarities in western customs and traditions, more people in Japan are having baby showers and other house parties, thus a store like this has been created. At the entrance of Party Market, you will be greeted by a cute elephant and pig welcoming your visit.

For all the princesses and princes

At Party Market, you can find rainbow colors of party goods that you are looking for, ranging from paper cups and plates, to tiaras. Whatever your little princess or prince is looking for, you can find it. Even if it is a pink tiara or a green tiara, most likely, it is there. Many of the items can be used for little children, but these are also for adult princesses and princes too. It is a small boutique, so you get to know the employees, and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. You can talk to the staff about what your party plan is, and they will help suggest a thing or two, or even more! It is a boutique where you can buy your own goods, but for those of you who want to throw a party and need someone to help you organize and decorate your party, Party Market can do all that for you as well.

Of course, if you are a traveler, you are not likely hosting a party. However, if you happen to visit a friend while you are in Japan and they want to throw a welcoming party, why not bring something fun and cute from Party Market. Of course, you can simply purchase kawaii items from Party Market as souvenirs to bring back home. The items range in price from a few hundred JPY (under 5 USD) to 2000 JPY (16.5 USD), 3000 JPY (25 USD), so everyone will find an item or two that you are looking for.

Party Market just opened in October 2015 so of course, the big party of the month was Halloween. Along with the year round parties, like birthday parties, wedding parties, and baby showers, Party Market also features a special party theme of the month, or season. With the theme of the month, Party Market’s free photo booth changes its theme. Of course, for the month of October it was Halloween. They also had special treats, such as children visiting the store between the date of Oct 20th to 31st to receive special balloons, and if you go to the store for “trick or treat,” you got a surprise gift. It is a very playful environment. Some of these are only for children, so you might want to be aware of that, but if your children are bored on your trip, it might be a fun place to take them.

Have a heart of a kid and enjoy!

When stepping into Party Market, it is hard for anybody not to feel happy and joyful, because in every direction you turn, there are cute fun party goods, which brighten your day. It is a small boutique, so it can just be a fun short stop when you visit the Shonan area, but it is surely worth your time if you like cute colorful things. It is open daily, except for Mondays from 10:00-19:00. It was a highly anticipated store because the creator of the store is a successful anniversary planner, collaborating with Journey Company, which produces restaurants and cafes. Even though it is a new boutique, it has already been receiving plenty of media attention, and has been hosting fun events, such as the event for Halloween, so you might want to have a playful heart when you plan a visit to Party Market.
