As in many seafront towns, the speciality in Cesenatico is fresh seafood. So, why not make the most of your trip and try as much as you possibly can? The speciality of the area is grilled sardines and the taste of the food is only enhanced by the stunning harbour views. Although the town is becoming more of a tourist destination, it has not forgotten its roots and fishing is still a very big part of life in Cesenatico. This means that the chefs have access to seafood of incredible quality.
Cesenatico is also home to another class of restaurant, even claiming not one but two Michelin starred establishments: La Buca and Magnolia. Whatever your budget, though, fill up on some of the best Italian seafood you can find, right here.

3. Get some art and culture at Tents on the Beach
As if the beach could get any better, from June to September, Cesenatico pays homage to the traditional beach tents of the past with this art installation on the beach. These large, rectangular canvases mounted on wooden poles were used before beach umbrellas to protect beachgoers from the scorching Italian sun.
Today these tents are a signature sight in Cesenatico and if you haven’t had the chance to see these masterpieces by day, head down as the light fades to admire this open-air exhibit. This year is the twentieth year that the exhibit has run, so expect some special installations, all completely for free.

The town of Cesenatico is a work of art in itself, and taking a few hours to appreciate the beauty of both the stunning natural setting and the incredible man-made craftsmanship and design is an absolute must - especially when one of the craftsmen was Leonardo De Vinci. Some of the best streets for soaking up the Italian lifestyle are Vie Delle Nazioni and Lungomare Carducci, which are right along the harbour.
