1. A must start of your trip: Levante and Poniente beaches of the Costa Blanca



The city of Benidorm proudly presents the wide sandy beaches of Costa Blanca. At the southern part of the city resides Levante Beach. Balcón del Mediterráneo is located on the site of the lost castle of Benidorm. Today, in its place, stands an amazing structure to get the best view of the nearby sea. The white-black chessboard tiled balcony stands in the place of the old fort which used to protect the city Benidorm from attacks of outsiders for around 300 years. In the west part of the city, La Cruz de Benidorm was once planted by a religious group in order to free this city from its sin. Today, a 45-minute uphill journey will give you an excellent view of the city from the hilltop. In the year 1975, the old original cross was blown away by a storm. The original cross was replaced by the present-day one, and the place has become popular as a tourist attraction for its awesome scenic outlook.

6. Hiking on the Sierra Gelada

Altea is a sleepy Spanish town, located just 15 minutes away from Benidorm City. This old town takes you back in time, along the coastline of the Costa Blanca. The church of ‘Virgen de Consuelo’ is perched on the hilltop of the town. The architecture is more attractive for its blue-doomed top. If you are an ardent fan of the history, a trip to Castillo de Biar is a must. The 13th-century military castle is located on the top of the hill, which overlooks the city of Castillo de Biar. The castle of Guadalest (Castell de Guadalest) is accessible through a tunnel named Portal de San Jose. This secure castle was built around 1,300 years ago by the Moors. Give a visit to the marine park Mundomar to interact with dolphins and the sea lions. The live shows of dolphins are not only for the kids, they are to entertain people of any age.
