3. Go to Bassiani, an electro music institution
Opened in 2013 by five 24 years old cofounders, Bassiani became in only a few years an institution in Georgia and the worldwide electro scene. The club is located in a basement of the Dynamo stadium, the home of the Georgian national soccer team. The cofounder managed to get the old swimming pool basement and converted it into what is now the most reputable club in Tbilisi and wider Georgia. Bassiani is open only on Friday nights in Tbilisi. Bassiani is often compared to Berghian, the famous Berlin electro club, and resident DJ of Bassiani regularly plays at Berghain.

Going to the sulfur bath is part of the routine any Georgian will have. 8. Go to the theater
The Rezo Gabriadze Theater is one of the best places to go in Tbilisi in the evening. It was designed by Georgian artist Rezo Gabriadze. Gabriadze designed himself thousands of tiles that he used to decorate the tower attached to the theater. The tower is one of the most emblematic signs of the cultural part of Tbilisi and a major touristic attraction. Make sure to visit on the hour to witness the window opening at the top and an angel striking the bell! A small puppet theater inside the tower makes a representation of “The Circle of Life” twice a day at noon and 7 pm.

9. Go for a wine degustation
Georgia brags to be home of the very first wines in the world - 8,000 years ago - and still produce wines with the ancient technique of qvevri (also called kvevri). Qvevri are large clay vessels used to age wine - in comparison to the oak barrel mostly used in most European wine producer countries. This technique gives a very special taste to the wine which barely has any tannin, making it much softer and flowery to drink.
The qvevri are often buried in the ground and covered with pieces of wood to let the wine age throughout the years. Georgian wines can thus be consumed young or aged for a much longer time. The three main type of wines produced in Georgia are “Lelo”, a port-type wine with a rich and harmonious taste due to its fruity aroma, the “Akhasheni”, a naturally semi-sweet red wine and the “Khvanchkara”, probably the most popular semi-sweet red wine.
