Mothia or Mozia is an archaeological site between Trapani and Marsala. It is the biggest island in Stagnone Natural Reserve, which was built by the Phoenicians in the 12th-century BC. The most interesting and wondrous fact about this island is that it is spread over 45 hectares (111 acres), and despite the area of the land, the Phoenicians made the best use of the space available.
