Don’t know where to go in Sardinia? If dancing the night away is your main objective in or near Villasimius, you need to check out Discoteca El Peyote. Caribbean music, stunning lights, and Latin American flavors set the scene for a beautiful night on the town. The restaurant has a bar complete with various types of cocktails and beer, and during events, DJs will spin records (so you’ll find it nearly impossible not to get up and dance!). 3. Sa Tankitta
Editor's Note: Photo taken from the establishment's official social account
Rated as some of the best food in Villasimius, Sa Tankitta is Mediterranean cuisine perfection; it’s hard to imagine sitting there, possibly looking out at a beautiful window, and picking just one thing. The best part is that great food isn’t all there is - great service, as well, according to the patrons and customers who leave very high compliments for Sa Tankitta. Ok, so you’re in Italy, is that really going to stop you from trying pasta? I didn’t think so! Seafood and pasta are the restaurant’s favorite staple dishes, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the delicious menu.

This is what people in real estate call “an amazing place”. Whether you’re visiting for a weekend or staying half the year, Torre di Porto is like a dream or something in a movie. Here you can see the Tower of Porto Giunco, built in 1578 - now that is historic! Getting to explore this place is one of the best activities in Sardinia’s Villasimius area.

5. Museo Archeologico di Villasimius
This small but vastly interesting museum is chock full of everything you’d expect: local history, amazing relics, tons of incredibly educational plaques, and much more. Seriously, this is a great opportunity for a day out for anyone; if you’re on a date (that’s a unique idea), with kids (educational and fun), fun alone, and fun with friends. One of the best things about Museo Archeologico is that with the ancient ruins and buildings, you feel it’s nearly interactive. Museums and exhibits and archives hold a lot of intrigue for history lovers, and it’s no exception, but now you can actually be in it, not just looking at something behind a glass wall.

Yes, more seafood. But the great news is that La Lanterna does more than middle of the road seafood - yummy appetizers, chocolate desserts, focaccia, and coffee, not to mention fantastic service! These people take their roles very seriously, and making sure their customers are well taken care of is their priority. According to Google reviews, La Lanterna gets a pretty excellent rating of 4.4 - which says a lot!

Ahh, the sea. It’s such an earthy, fabulous delight that itself costs nothing (ok, parking sometimes) and you can come pretty much anytime here, and there’s nothing not to love. The locals consider this one of the best beaches and places to hike, too, so if you’re great with swimming but after a while want to change it up a little, make sure you take along your hiking essentials! Flamingos. Yeah, flamingos. If you are wanting to see cool wildlife that you normally wouldn’t see every day then this is the spot for you. Don’t worry, you’ll get your perfect tan here too. This crazy awesome lagoon is paradise. This beach is probably not as packed as some of the others tend to be - tourists and locals alike coming together to share the ocean. This may be just an excuse for another beach, but a lagoon that fosters flamingos in their sanctuary is pretty cool on its own, too.
