3. Get fresh local products at Ostuni Street Market

This huge food market usually takes place on Saturdays, so if you happen to be in Ostuni on a Saturday, make sure you don’t miss the chance to get fresh products directly from the farmers. Even just strolling around is a nice experience, as you will get to interact with local farmers. The market usually opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 1 p.m.

4. Duomo di Ostuni Cathedral
This Roman Catholic church in the middle of Ostuni is built in Gothic style. The interior is beautifully decorated with paintings representing scenes from the New Testament. The exterior of the church is also worth noticing, so make sure to pass by while in Ostuni.

5. Parco Dune Costiere

Walking along the long beach of Parco Dune Costiere is an amazing experience. The protected area is perfect for both swimming and hiking. The area is not very wide. Trips can be organized either on foot, by bike, riding or with electric cars.

6. Museo Civilta Preclassiche della Murgia Meridionale
The highlight of this small museum is Delia, “La Donna di Ostuni.” It displays the real fossilized skeleton of a woman who lived more than 25,000 years ago and died while she was in her eighth month of pregnancy. Don’t plan a very long visit, as most other exhibits don’t require much time to see.

7. Have a coffee in Piazza della Liberta
This impressive square is a good place to just stop, enjoy a coffee and observe people passing by. Compared to the Old Town, you might not be as impressed with the architecture, but if you’re in the area, it’s worth passing by. In case coffee is not your thing, no worries, you can always go for an ice cream.

This small private beach club provides the tourist with good service. They have clean showers and toilets, umbrellas and chairs. The access to the sandy beach is free of charge. You only have to pay if you want to rent one of the umbrellas and/or loungers/chairs. It can get quite busy during high season.
