Spain in an amazingly beautiful country, literally a world in itself. Depending on where you visit, you can experience deserts, volcanoes, green lush hillsides, mountain vistas or glorious beaches. The country also offers historic towns and modern exciting cities with so much to see and do, it would take a person a lifetime to attempt to see everything. We’ve cut things down a little to eight of the best tours to experience in Spain. Enjoy!

1. Game of Thrones tours in Spain

The HBO series “Game of Thrones” has proved popular with fans worldwide and has been filmed in some spectacular locations. From season 5, Spain was chosen as the backdrop for several episodes with more to come in the future season. This exciting tour takes you on a walking tour of a couple of these locations.

Head to Girona’s Old Town and experience King’s Landing and the free city of Braavos, while walking in the footsteps of King Joffrey, Arya Stark, and Tyrion. Girona is a popular location, close to Barcelona, and even offers a “Game of Thrones” related ice cream, dubbed “King’s Hand.” Head to Andalusia and visit the enigmatic city of Seville where the beautiful Alcázar palace played the role of the House Martell, while its beautiful and well-kept fountains, pools and gardens became the famous Water Gardens of Dorne.

While in Seville, take a side trip to Osuna and the Plaza de Toros, used as Daznak’s Pit in Meereen. Here you can also enjoy “Game of Thrones” inspired tapas dishes at a local tapas bar. With new and exciting locations about to appear in the upcoming season of this popular HBO series, no doubt more will be added to this tour at a later stage.

Alhambra

While visiting the Alhambra palace complex, be sure to take pictures of this dome that is the culmination of Nasrid architecture, which shows a symbol that has little or nothing to do with the rulers of the Alhambra, and then learn about the "Fleur-de-lis" symbol of purity on your visit and its significance. You'll also find the scenic Mirador de Lindaraja, so take your time while exploring.

Another place to visit in historic Alhambra is the Palace of Charles V,  one of the best examples of Renaissance architecture inspired by palaces in Florence or Mantua. Its architect, Pedro Machuca, took inspiration from Italian architects, especially Giulio Romano.

Although the Holy Roman Emperor's idea of turning Granada into the capital of Europe did not come true, it was interpreted through architecture. The square represents an earthly empire, while the eternal circle symbolizes a connection with the divine legitimacy of Hagia Sophia and Aachen, signifying governance over both heaven and earth.

Inside, you will find Museo de Bellas Artes de Granada and Museo de la Alhambra, and entry to both is free.
