3. All round festivities at Carnival of Acireale
You cannot talk about Acireale and not mention their month-long Carnival they hold every year. If you find yourself in Acireale during the month of February or August, it is a must-do event. Join the locals in the festivities which date back to the 16th-century. The carnival is characterized by folk poetry, magnificently decorated horse carriages, masked people depicting countless characters and all types of colorful floats shadowed by outstanding backgrounds of Mount Etna, the beautiful blue sea and the general Acireale scenic landscape.

4. Gouge on seafood at Trattoria La Grotta
