Bardez is the name of a region in north Goa, popular for its beaches and market. The name Bardez is derived from the word “bara” meaning “12” and “desh” meaning “country” and it refers to the 12 specific territories which, together, make up Bardez. This is one of the most popular tourist destinations, in Goa. There are many sites like beaches and a market for shopping. The region is very green and the roads, well maintained and you can hire a scooter or bike to go anywhere, at any time.
Bardez features an active nightlife with pubs, casinos and more. The best time to visit is from November to March when the climate is pleasant. In other months it is very hot. Christmas and New Years’ Eve are particularly busy in this area. Local people celebrate these holidays enthusiastically and tourists come to enjoy the parties, organized by the local people.
