It has the best cricket stadium in the whole of India and also has the largest rose garden in the whole of Asia. Mohali, also called SAS Nagar, is a commercial hub, an IT hub and an important city in Punjab. There are many sporting venues here like the world famous cricket stadium, a hockey stadium, some indoor stadiums, and a golf course as well. 1. Visit Asia's largest rose garden

The Rose Garden in Mohali is also known as Dr Zakir Rose Garden, and was established in 1967. This garden has the distinction of being Asia’s largest rose garden. It is spread over 27 acres (11 hectares) and the garden has more than 17,000 plants and almost 1,600 different varieties of roses.

It has many plants besides roses, and is visited by thousands of people every year. It is a favorite among the locals, and children love to play in the garden both morning and evening. It is a nice place to visit for some tranquility, especially with your family.

2. Baba Banda Singh Bahadur War Memorial

The Baba Banda Singh Bahadur War Memorial is located at Chapparchiri in SAS Nagar near sector-91 Mohali. It was inaugurated in 2011, and celebrates Baba Singh Bahadur’s victory over the Mughal forces in the year 1710. The memorial was built where the battle was fought, to glorify the heroic Sikh Soldiers.

3. North Country Mall

The North Country Mall in Kharar, Mohali is one of the biggest malls in India. The mall was opened in early 2013 and has almost all of the big brands in fashion under one roof. 4. Gurdwara Amb Sahib

Gurdwara Amb Sahib is a holy and a historic place in Mohali for the Sikhs. “Amb” in Punjabi language means mango. This holy shrine is allegedly the result of the blessing of revered Sikh Guru, the Guru Har Rai. This place is visited by Sikhs from all parts of the country and also abroad.

5. Visit the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium

The Punjab Cricket Association Stadium is located in Mohali. It is considered to be India’s best cricket stadium and boasts of the latest state-of-the-art infrastructure, has great practice facilities for the cricketers, the seats are very viewer-friendly and it has a spacious media enclosure. The facilities for the players are also very good and there are recreational facilities like swimming pools, good tennis courts, a gymnasium and a good dressing room.

6. Bhakra-Nangal Dam

The Bhakra-Nangal Dam is located near Nangal, which is located near Mohali. The dam is built across the River Sutlej and there is lush green vegetation nearby, which makes it a great picnic spot. The dam was named ‘Gobind Sagar’ after the Guru Gobind Singh. It is the world’s highest straight gravity dam and generates electricity for Chandigarh, Delhi and other cities as well.

7. The famous Fateh Burj

The Fateh Burj is the tallest minar in India, situated in the historical village of Chappar Chiri in the SAS Nagar district. Fateh Burj was built to mark the historical battle of Chapparchiri. The 328 ft (100 m) tower is dedicated to the great victory led by general Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in 1711.
