Originally serving as the royal seat of the Munster kings, legend has it that even St. Patrick himself journeyed here to convert King Aenghus to Christianity. In 978, Brian Boru was crowned as the High King at Cashel, establishing it as his capital.

There will be an opportunity to visit the impressive Cormac’s Chapel - one of the best examples of 12th century Romanesque architecture in Ireland with the only surviving Romanesque frescoes in Ireland.
