Nilotlot is a term used by the elders of the Bagobo Tribe when it comes to bamboo cooking. They place giant freshwater prawns, native chickens, and wild pigs inside the bamboo and mix them with herbs, spices, and coconut milk. Nilotlot is usually served at a big event, such as festivals and weddings, or prepared for special people, such as guests. Davao has four main celebrations of the year:

1. Araw ng Davao or the founding day of the City: March 1.

2. Feast Day of St. Peter - this is in accordance with the first Mass in Davao after it was conquered by the Spanish. It is celebrated every June 29.

3. The Kadayawan Festival is almost a month-long celebration, and this is the most celebrated festival of the whole year.

4. Another month-long celebration is the Pasko Fiesta, a Christmas festival.

Davao's best attractions are located outdoors, so visiting during the dry season is highly recommended, which usually begins in December and ends in June. These months also have lower chances of rainfall, making it easier for you to get from one attraction to the next.
