The view
If you are lucky enough to grab a room with an ocean front view at the Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spa, you are in for a spectacular treat, and not just as the sun sets on the Yucatan horizon. Waking up in the morning to the sound of rolling ocean waves, the sounds of seagulls, and warm summer rays, and seeing that cerulean color of the ocean and the infinity pool in your very own balcony definitely is a winner. It instantly puts you at ease and allows you to begin your day in a very positive way.
The pool
The pool is massive. Massive as in Olympic-sized massive. It’s a curvy, heated, lagoon of beautiful water and it’s actually divided into two sections, the bigger infinity pool for adults and the smaller pool for children (complete with a fun waterslide). Even on a chilly evening, the water is gently warm and creates an atmosphere of intense relaxation. By far the worst thing about the pool is having the courage to leave it, because it is so comfortable. There are two restaurants by the pool serving Mexican fare (the three famous T’s: tacos, tortillas, and tequila) and an army of friendly workers who bring drinks directly to you.
Sunny glamour in the room
Since this is a time-share resort, the rooms here are larger and better stocked than typical hotel rooms. Here, you have a well-equipped kitchen area with a dishwasher, microwave, oven, plates, glasses, cutlery, a sink, a refrigerator and freezer. It’s essentially like an apartment, designed for luxury. The bed is large, the balcony has the aforementioned spectacular views, but the real jewel is the bathroom, which comes complete with marble tiles, a hot tub, and a rainforest showerhead. The hot tub’s jets are strong and will massage your tired muscles.
Calibrated relaxation in the Caribbean
The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spa, is designed almost like a small village. It’s so large that it has its own grocery store, fitness center, children’s activity area, a lovely lobby, and business center. The design is very contemporary, with lots of open light streaming through large panes of glass. The employees are not only friendly, but extremely professional. They will go out of their way to help you with any issues you might encounter, and they speak excellent English.
Cancun has many hotels and resorts, but the Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spa stands out for its friendly and professional service. Its enchanting views of the Caribbean Sea, enormous infinity pool, efficient kitchen area, excellent food and relaxing jacuzzi will melt your stress away.
