An affluent village today, Colinton in Edinburgh has a few flats about. It retains its humble roots, however, and is still composed of mostly cottages. There are also a few local shops, a library, great pubs, few local restaurants, and many open places to just stroll about.
In the early days, this place had many cloths and grain mills operating here which were the main source of income for Colinton. The village was also a big producer of whisky, tobacco, and paper but today there are no more mills. Only the remnant of it can be seen. You can check out our list of hotels and vacation rentals in the Colinton area which are really affordable and have the best amenities for you.
