Volunteering used to mean aiding impoverished communities in your city or helping at a soup kitchen. However, in the age of progressive social media and access to just about any location on the planet, volunteering can now be combined with a holiday. This allows travelers to be directly involved with changes occurring in local communities at the grassroots level. Animal volunteering is a popular program that can take place seasonally, such as during turtle hatching season in Costa Rica. On the other hand, projects related to the rehabilitation and conservation of wild animals operate on a continuous cycle, and the protection of elephants in Thailand is one example of this initiative. Take advantage of the opportunity to make a difference and choose a path that helps protect the environment and wildlife. Elephant Nature Park’s two-week volunteer program aims to improve the living conditions of elephants, the national symbol of Thailand. The park provides a haven for abused and orphaned elephants. In addition to the elephants, the park also helps to protect a variety of rescued animals, including buffalos, dogs, cats, and others.
A typical day at the camp begins with breakfast at 7am, with the rest of the day involving preparing food for and feeding the animals. Volunteers also help in constructing and maintaining mud pits and providing help in the nearby villages. The volunteer fee includes shared accommodation, vegan meals, and transportation to and from Chiang Mai.

Volunteers should have no criminal records and be at least 18 years old. Moreover, the cost includes dorm-style accommodation, two meals, and pick-up from San Jose International Airport. Upon request, a certificate of completion is provided for participants.

The center is pro-life and aims to increase longevity and provide an appropriate quality of life. Moreover, the center relies on the efforts of volunteers to operate effectively, so their main requirement is that participants love animals as much as they do.
Volunteers work five days per week, and their tasks include feeding, playing, and cleaning the kennels of the rescues. Planning and executing fundraising events are also part of the role. It is recommended that volunteers present a valid certificate for their rabies and tetanus vaccination before beginning the program.
Family homes host the participants, and the program fee includes three meals a day. On the day off, volunteers can explore the city and visit the beaches and other cultural sites.
