The Waynesborough Historical Village is located on the site of the former town of Waynesborough. The village consists of nine historic buildings relocated to the park in order to preserve and present the history of the surrounding areas. 6. The Goldsborough Bridge Battlefield
The Goldsborough Bridge Battlefield is the historic site where the Last Battle of Foster’s Raid was fought by 15,000 men in 1862. Regular re-enactments of the Civil War take place on the site and guided tours by Civil War enthusiast are available on request at no charge but donation are welcome. Alternatively you can go on a self-guided tour to walk where soldiers once walked. Seeing all the important areas will take roughly an hour.
