Charlottesville, Virginia has a new hotel for travelers to enjoy. The Country Inn and Suites opened in November of 2016 and is a popular choice already. Located at the intersection of Highway 250 and Emmet Street puts this hotel a ten minute drive from downtown Charlottesville and five minutes to the University of Virginia.

Modern comfortable lobby

King room at Hyatt Place

Choose from three room types: king room, double queen, accessible, or one-bedroom suite on one of four floors. The lobby area is furnished with comfortable sofas by a gas-log fireplace, which looks more like the living room of trendy California mansion than a hotel. The reception staff members are young but quite efficient and friendly.

Once you are in your room, notice the tastefully chosen artwork. The art is not overbearing, almost minimalistic and makes the room feel uncluttered and relaxing. The room’s modern air conditioning is a bonus as the sound level and performance is much better than that of an older hotel. Beds are firm, but not too firm and plenty of pillows are there for those who love to sleep with more than one. Kick back with a good book before bed in the plush armchair for those who love to read.

Excellent amenities

Breakfast room

Bathrooms are well-lit and spotlessly clean. The shower features a rain-type head with water falling from above like a natural rain cloud. Sorry for those who like the direct fire hose-type of shower head as you won’t find it here. Other room features are a refrigerator, coffee maker, 50 inch/127 cm cable TV with free HBO, work desk with USB connection, free Wi-Fi, free USA Today, and local newspaper.

This affordable hotel packs a suitcase full of amenities. Starting your day with the free hot and cold breakfast items in the spacious dining area is a must. Cook-your-own waffles, hot eggs, breakfast meat of the day, potatoes, assorted cereals, yogurt, fruit, and fruit juices will satisfy most guests. If you depart the hotel before the breakfast hour, the staff will pack you a breakfast to go on request.

Start your day right

indoor pool

The business center is a quiet place to get work done and the fitness center caters to the fit crowd needing a workout. The Country Inn and Suites Charlottesville is a family favorite enhanced by the large indoor pool. You won’t find a diving board, but the pool is deep enough to swim laps or just splash around with your kids. After the pool, you can use the guest laundry next to it to clean and dry your wet laundry.

For dining options, the Aberdeen Barn Steak House is a mere minute’s walk away. If you don’t mind going into downtown Charlottesville, you’ll find numerous dining options for sit-down or takeout food choices. One of the special aspects of Charlottesville’s food scene is somehow they are able to support three very good bakeries within a stone’s throw of each other. Try The Pie Chest, Albemarle Baking Company, or Paradox Bakery for great to-go baked goods. A visit to the trendy Belmont district is perfect for dining alfresco at Mas Tapas for Spanish inspired cuisine or Tavola for Italian. Be forewarned that there are not many public parking spaces here in Belmont and taking a taxi or Uber is the preferred way to arrive.

Just what you're looking for

If you are like most travelers and appreciate a clean, comfortable, newer hotel, then the Charlottesville Country Inn and Suites will surely fit what you are looking for.
