Whether you plan to spend some time exploring the provincial capital of Surat Thani or you have arrived in town too late to catch a connection across to the province’s famous beautiful islands, Wangtai Hotel is great place to spend the night. It is an attractive accommodation option that provides high standards of comfort and professional service at reasonable prices.

Located in the busy heart of the city, it is within easy reach of the main sights and transportation hubs.

See why Wangtai Hotel is a great choice …

Affordable clean and spacious rooms with good amenities

A Superior Room costs between 1,000 THB (approximately 28 USD) and 1,250 THB (approximately 35 USD) per night. There are also Deluxe Rooms priced between 1,300 THB (approximately 36 USD) and 1,450 THB (approximately 40 USD) for a night and Suites at 2,500 THB (approximately 70 USD) per night.

All rooms have loads of floor space and plenty of storage. Each also has air conditioning, a mini refrigerator with a selection of mini-bar snacks and drinks as well as complimentary bottled water, and satellite TV with a good selection of international channels. The bathrooms have a hair dryer and a hot water shower over a bath tub, great for soaking away any aches and pains after long days of exploring or travelling!

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the hotel and rooms have a decent number of sockets for charging all your gadgets and gizmos.

Suites have a comfortable double bed, whilst the Superior and Deluxe Rooms have either a double bed or two single beds.

A large restaurant and free breakfast each day

A buffet breakfast is included each morning, with a wide variety of Thai dishes and international food available. Perhaps you would like to try a bowl of Khao Tom - thick porridge-like rice soup - that is often eaten for breakfast in Thailand? Or maybe you fancy a crisp and crunchy salad and fruit? With bread, eggs, cereals, juices, and hot tea and coffee also available, you will certainly be able to start your day on the right note.

The restaurant also serves a selection of Thai meals throughout the day. Take a light-weight sweater or large scarf with you at mealtimes – the restaurant staff is a little over-zealous with the air-conditioning and it can get pretty chilly in the dining room. It’s difficult to fully appreciate a meal with your teeth chattering! That said, the great selection of ice creams and colourful cold desserts will still probably tempt you to indulge!

The Coffee Corner is a relaxed little spot to chill out with a drink.

Total onsite convenience with good facilities and services

The hotel has a large clean outdoor swimming pool that positively beckons when the sun is shining! A few sun loungers and chairs are scattered around the edges and tall plants provide some welcoming shade. A well-equipped fitness centre is also available and you can unwind after your workout with a sauna session or a massage. Need to do some laundry? Simply pop it in the plastic laundry bag and pass it to the reception staff.

Corporate guests will be pleased to find a modern business centre and well-equipped meeting rooms. Whilst not a facility or service, guests can also enjoy the nice views from the upper levels of the hotel. Some areas overlook the river, whilst others look out towards the distant mountains.

Places to visit from Wangtai Hotel

Whilst the city of Surat Thani isn’t particularly known for tourism, you will still find a handful of interesting things to do and see before you move on. Cover your knees and shoulders, slip off your shoes, and peek inside some of the local Buddhist temples. A sizeable Muslim community also means that you will notice some elegant mosques with attractive domes and tall minarets.

The night market is a terrific place to sample a variety of local cuisine. See if you can notice the difference in flavours between common meals in Central Thailand and those here in the South … southern dishes are usually even fierier!

Before you make your mad dash to Koh Samui, Koh Tao or Koh Pha Ngan, etc., why not spend a few days enjoying the less hurried and quieter beaches on the provincial mainland coast?

Book your stay at Wangtai Hotel and enjoy the calm before (or after!) the often frenetic way of life on the province’s popular and pretty islands.
