Don’t be alarmed if you can’t find a remote control for the TV – you must sign for this at reception to ensure its safe return. Further items can be borrowed from reception, such as kettles, hair dryers, outlet adapters, and irons.

The large bathrooms feature a full-sized bathtub as well as a shower and a basic selection of complimentary toiletries.

Bottled water is provided daily, although the tap water in Brunei is also safe to drink. Rooms benefit from free Wi-Fi access, with a strong and reliable connection.

Onsite dining options for a delicious feed

The hotel is home to both a restaurant and a bistro. The restaurant can be found on the ground floor, with an adjoining door to the reception area as well as a door to the front car park, and the bistro is located on the first floor. Each shares the same name of Deli-Bites.

The restaurant serves a good selection of reasonably priced local and international meals throughout the day, staying open until 10pm. The French inspired decor and pictures create a warm and homey atmosphere. The bistro is a great place to sink into an over-sized armchair and relax with a cup of coffee and a snack.

A free breakfast is offered each morning in the restaurant, although you will need to collect your meal tickets from the reception first. Guests can choose an item from the breakfast menu, which includes favourites such as sausage, egg, toast, beans, and hash browns, omelet, and crepes. Fresh fruit is also served, as well as a choice of hot tea and coffee.

Other hotel facilities

There is a very well-stocked minimart, selling an array of drinks, snacks, cooking ingredients, toiletries, household goods, medication, and more. Note that alcohol and tobacco products are not available to buy in all of Brunei.

Officially an Islamic nation, alcohol cannot be consumed by Muslims and so is banned countrywide. Visitors can enter with small, restricted amounts for personal consumption in a private place. Whilst smoking is not officially banned in Brunei, there are very strict limitations as to where a person can smoke. The sale of cigarettes, rolling tobacco, and other such items have such imposing restrictions and high taxes that it is not profitable for vendors to obtain the requisite seller’s license. Therefore, there are no legal outlets to buy tobacco products. Again, visitors are permitted to enter the country with small amounts of tobacco for personal use. All alcoholic and tobacco products must be declared to customs.

A large car park is available to the rear of the hotel, with a smaller parking area at the front. Two elevators serve all floors of Jubilee Plaza. On the first floor you will find an internet café, a health centre, a beauty salon, and a billiards shop. Laundry services are available for an additional fee, and extra shuttle services can also be arranged at a great low rate.
