While traveling, you have to consider the transportation options around a particular city, and also the cost of accommodations. In a big city like Dallas, downtown hotels can be a bit pricey, so going to the suburbs may be your best bet for a value for money accommodation. The Hampton Inn Dallas-Addison caught our eye, not just for the price, but also for the neighborhood it’s in.

Hip, energetic, and close to the Interstate

The crazy Texas interstates

The hotel is in Addison, a suburb that’s about 20-minute drive north from downtown Dallas, or a 20-minute drive north of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). Addison is a very lively neighborhood, with plenty of restaurants to eat in on its main street, as well as a giant mall, Galleria Mall, and mid-range hotels.

Hampton Inn Dallas-Addison is also conveniently close to the Interstate (I-635), and is also accessible by public transportation called DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit). Uber is also just a few minutes away! The hotel still looks new, with a contemporary modern design.

Cozy room, soft beds

View of our room

The room at Hampton Inn Dallas-Addison is cozy; it’s not as big as typical American standards. You’ll get a writing desk that you can use to get a bit of work done, and a flat screen TV for your entertainment pleasure. There are a few cable channels that you can watch, but you can also plug in your Amazon Fire or Roku to the HDMI ports so you can catch up on your shows.

The bathroom is also on the small side. There is no bathtub, only a shower, and some Neutrogena toiletries available for you to use. The rooms have different views, some have a pool/parking lot view, while others look out onto the street. The room we stayed in happened to be on the top floor, with a direct view of the kidney-shaped pool. The beds are very soft and comfortable.

Unlimited food & beverages

The breakfast/lounge room awaits

It was still a bit too cold to use the swimming pool during our visit, but the hotel also has a running track for avid joggers/runners and also a fitness center that’s open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cold water are available to all guests at all hours; so if you suddenly have a craving for some hot tea at 2 in the morning, just head on to the lobby and get your fix.

There are also plenty of lounge chairs and tables where you can sit and enjoy your drink or quiet time in the lobby. From 6 AM to 9:30 AM, there is a hot buffet breakfast available, which you can enjoy in the same lounge area.

Quirky and comfortable hotel

The Hampton Inn Dallas-Addison is great value for money and is a very comfortable place to stay in. One thing to note is that the television defaults to a high volume setting when you first turn it on, so as not to disturb your neighbors and to save your hearing, immediately put it to mute.

The doors can be a bit noisy when your neighbors come in and out of their rooms, but nothing too annoying. One touch about the Hampton Inn Dallas-Addison is the room numbers also come with quirky photos – unique for every room, which ensures you won’t get lost.
